Freelancer, not an agencyShopify, WooCommerce & MagentoUS & Canada hours

A senior eCommerce freelancer, not another agency.

Most store owners end up choosing between an agency and a freelancer. I am the freelancer: one senior person with 20+ years in eCommerce who runs your Meta ads, Google Ads and Klaviyo email himself. No account managers, no juniors learning on your budget, and you always talk to the person doing the work.

Should you hire an eCommerce freelancer or an agency?

Hire a senior freelancer if you want experienced hands on your account and one person accountable. Hire an agency if you need a big team across many channels at once. Most growing Shopify and DTC brands are better served by the first.

I am a freelance eCommerce marketer with 20+ years running my own stores and client accounts. I run Meta ads, Google Ads and Klaviyo personally for brands in the US and Canada, on Shopify, WooCommerce and Magento.

“Tal is an expert in his field, with an analytical, data-driven approach and industry awareness that sets him apart. After years of poor results with various ad agencies, Tal has been a breath of fresh air. His experience running his own e-commerce brands gives him a unique appreciation for the macro aspects of online business, which is hard to find elsewhere (trust me, we have tried!). If you need a dedicated eCommerce expert with in-depth digital marketing knowledge, Tal is your man.”

“Tal is fantastic. Knowledgeable, helpful and very to the point. I have learned a lot during our coaching sessions that I believe will genuinely set us up for success across email marketing, as well as Meta and Google ads. Tal has always been willing to answer questions outside of our sessions and offer extra support during difficult times for sales. I'd recommend Tal to anyone looking for a seasoned professional who genuinely cares.”

Questions people ask before hiring a freelancer

The ones I hear on most first calls.

Should I hire a freelancer or an agency for my eCommerce marketing?

If you want senior, hands-on work and one person accountable, a senior freelancer is usually the better value. Agencies make sense when you need a large team across many channels at once. Many brands come to me after an agency handed their account to a junior.

Where can I find a good eCommerce marketing freelancer?

Marketplaces like Upwork and Contra are full of options, but quality varies a lot. Look for someone who has run their own stores, shows real dashboards, and will let you talk to past clients. I am on Upwork with a 100% Job Success Score and on Contra, and I work directly through talmor.ca.

How much does an eCommerce freelancer cost?

Rates vary widely. My rate is $200/hr for ad-hoc work, and ongoing management is a monthly retainer scoped to the channels and workload. There is no percentage of ad spend and no agency markup.

Can one freelancer handle Meta, Google and email?

Yes, and it often works better. When the same person runs ads and email, budgets, offers and messaging line up instead of three vendors pulling in different directions.

What if I need more capacity than one person?

I bring in specialists I trust for video production or development when needed, but I stay the one person accountable for strategy and results.

Do you work with brands outside the US?

I work with brands across the US and Canada, on North American business hours. See my page for Canadian Shopify brands.
