I run Facebook and Instagram ads for Shopify and DTC brands myself. No account managers, no juniors, no outsourced media buyers. Twenty years running my own stores means I manage your budget like it is my own money, and the results are on the dashboards below.

Hire someone who touches your account personally, judges results on profit rather than platform ROAS, and can talk about creative and offers, not only audiences. Meta's targeting is now mostly automated, so the levers that move results are creative, offer, account structure and clean tracking.
That is how I work. I am a senior freelancer, not an agency, and I run every account myself. I have run Meta for my own stores for years and for Shopify and DTC brands across the US and Canada, with ROAS lifts like 1.16 to 2.33, 1.60 to 2.38 and 3.52 to 5.84 on real client accounts.
The same things I do on my own stores, every week.
Every engagement starts with an audit before I touch a dollar of spend: structure, tracking, creative and offers.
Advantage+ and manual campaigns set up the way an operator runs their own budget, with clear rules for when to scale and when to cut.
1.16 → 2.33 ROASHooks, statics, UGC and offers tested on a steady rhythm. On Meta today, creative is the targeting.
Pixel, Conversions API and Shopify set up properly, so the algorithm optimizes on real purchases.
I report on blended MER and contribution margin alongside platform ROAS, so growth is actually profitable.
If you want, I also run Google Shopping and Klaviyo so the whole funnel pulls in one direction.
2× revenue, same MERActual Meta dashboards from accounts I have run. Nothing here is a template or a stock number.

What you actually get with each option.
| Agency | Gig freelancer | Me | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who touches your account | Often a junior media buyer | Whoever took the gig | Me, personally |
| Experience with real money | Varies by who is assigned | Usually limited | 20 years on my own stores |
| Creative and offers | Separate team or extra fee | Rarely | Part of the job |
| What success means | Platform ROAS | Delivering the task | Profitable revenue, MER and margin |
| Proof | Case studies | Reviews | Live dashboards and clients you can call |
Sixty minutes, live in your ad account. You will see what I would change either way.
Structure, tracking, creative, offers and margins, with a prioritized fix list.
I restructure the account and start a steady creative testing rhythm.
Weekly optimization and one clear report tied to revenue, not vanity metrics.

Mozaik Underwater Cameras, scaled to 7 figures and sold. Brillianteers, built to mid-7-figures in one of the most competitive niches online. Today I run Meta for a handful of brands across jewelry, medical, furniture and swimwear, with $500K+ a month in managed spend.
“Tal is an expert in his field, with an analytical, data-driven approach and industry awareness that sets him apart. After years of poor results with various ad agencies, Tal has been a breath of fresh air. His experience running his own e-commerce brands gives him a unique appreciation for the macro aspects of online business, which is hard to find elsewhere (trust me, we have tried!). If you need a dedicated eCommerce expert with in-depth digital marketing knowledge, Tal is your man.”
“Tal is fantastic. Knowledgeable, helpful and very to the point. I have learned a lot during our coaching sessions that I believe will genuinely set us up for success across email marketing, as well as Meta and Google ads. Tal has always been willing to answer questions outside of our sessions and offer extra support during difficult times for sales. I'd recommend Tal to anyone looking for a seasoned professional who genuinely cares.”
“We had the pleasure of working with Tal to launch and test our Meta ad campaigns, and the results have been outstanding. From the moment he joined, it was clear we were working with a true expert in eCommerce marketing. He conducted a thorough audit, refined our targeting, optimized creatives, and structured our campaigns for maximum efficiency — measurable improvements while keeping our media budget stable. If you're looking for a consultant who genuinely cares about your business and delivers real results, Tal is the person to hire.”
The ones I hear on almost every first call.
Ongoing management is a monthly retainer, scoped after an audit based on spend and how much creative work is involved. For ad-hoc work and audits my rate is $200/hr. Hiring a consultant usually makes sense once you are spending at least a few thousand dollars a month on Meta.
An agency gives you a team, but often a junior runs your account. A gig freelancer is cheap but rarely senior. A senior freelancer gives you agency-level experience with one person accountable. If you want someone who has spent their own money on Meta running your account, hire a senior freelancer.
There is no universal number. The right target comes from your margins: work out your break-even ROAS, then aim above it on a blended basis. A 2.0 ROAS can be very profitable for one brand and a loss for another. I set targets from your contribution margin, not industry averages.
Yes. I write the hooks, angles and briefs, and produce statics in-house. For video and UGC I direct production with specialists I trust. Creative is part of the job, not an add-on.
Yes. I set up the Meta pixel and Conversions API with Shopify properly, check event match quality and deduplication, and make sure the algorithm is optimizing on real purchases.
Yes. Many brands have me run Google Shopping and Klaviyo too, so ads and email work as one system. One client doubled revenue at the same marketing efficiency.
I work with Shopify and DTC brands across the US and Canada. See my page for Canadian Shopify brands.
Same operator behind all of it. Pick what fits where you are.
Done for you. Ads, email and creative for your brand, managed personally like it is my own account.
See the receipts →Audits and flow rebuilds that have taken email from about 15% to the 30% range of revenue.
Klaviyo →I own your growth plan and budget part-time, and run Meta, Google and Klaviyo myself. No agency layer.
Fractional CMO →Sixty minutes, live in your account, no obligation. You will leave knowing exactly what I would change.
